Player Profile: Sophomore Defensive Back #18 Ryan White

By Greg Pecko

Defensive Back Ryan White is one of the many young players on a Marple Newtown Tigers team that has 32 underclassmen of which 21 are sophomores. This young squad has a bright future and looks to contend in the Central League over the next several years and with White already developing quickly at the corner position the defense is going to be a cornerstone of the Tigers' program.

So far this season White is starting to influence games and has shown that he has the ability to develop into a great cornerback and an even better defensive leader. White has accumulated 10 tackles in just the first three games of the season and leads the defense with 2 interceptions this season.

White is on pace to rack up around 40 tackles and around 8 interceptions for the 12 game season. Even though the first couple games have not gone as planned for the Tigers (0-3) White's performance has been a bright spot for the young Tigers who are starting to develop chemistry and skills as this team progresses.

White has the potential to have great career in a Marple Newtown uniform and as long as he continues to work and hone his skills White should be a staple in the Tigers' defense in the coming seasons. How White develops at the cornerback will signal how the Tigers' program develops as a whole.

White and this Tigers' team should be better at by the end of this season then the way they started and for a young team like this Tigers squad that is a great sign for the future of the program.

The Tigers' will face the Haverford Fords Friday, September 19th at 7 pm in Harry Harvey Stadium with podcast coverage provided by the Tigers' Radio Network.
