By Greg Pecko

ROSEMONT, PA - The Marple Newtown Tigers (4-6) picked up another win Friday night at Harriton with a 38-7 win over the Rams. With two games remaining in the season, the Tigers are hoping to win both and finish at 6-6.

Senior tailback Phil Graziano had another stellar night on the ground with 179 yards rushing on 17 carries and he had four touchdowns as well. Graziano, a week after going over 1000 yards on the season, has now set his eyes on 1,500 yards and has an outside shot at hitting that mark.

Junior quarterback Kevin Johnson also had a great night through the air Friday as he was a perfect four for four passing with 134 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. Johnson finished the game with an unbelievable passer rating of 546.40 for the game.

The Tigers offense was able to accumulate over 350 yards of total offense both on the ground and through the passing game. The second quarter of the game was huge for the offense as they were able to score 20 points and distance themselves from Harriton.

The Tigers also had a great game on the defensive side of the football as they nearly shutout the Rams offense on their home field.

The defense was led by senior linebacker Dan Giordano who had 10 total tackles in the win Friday. The defense had a total of 3 sacks in the game with Giordano, Nick Stephens, Joe Carini and Kevin Lopez all contributing to that number.

The Tigers will be at home for their final two games of the season and next week they take on St. Pius X at Harry Harvey Stadium at 7 pm.
