THE TIGER BECOMES A LION

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA - Proving that hard work and dedication does pay off, senior OT/DE Pete Massaro committed with a single pen stroke to the Pennsylvania State University and will play college football under Hall of Fame coach, Joe Paterno.

The 6-4, 245-pounder and Big 33 selection, registered 47 tackles, six sacks, 10 TFLs, six QB hurries and two forced fumbles in his senior season.

In Pete's junior year, the All-Delco lineman recorded 52 tackles, four sacks, 13.5 TFLs, six QB hurries and two forced fumbles.

As a sophomore in 2005, Massaro had 26 tackles, six sacks, 9.5 TFLs, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

MARPLE NEWTOWN FOOTBALL PROGRAM REFLECTS ON 2007 SEASON

BROOMALL, PA - The 2007 Marple Newtown Football Team Banquet took place the at beautiful Paxon Hollow Country Club on Sunday, January 27th, 2007. This event was sponsored by the Tigers Football Boosters Association.

Awards were given, the team highlight film was shown, and former Tiger football great Steve Coyne presented the first annual Steve Coyne Special Teams Award.

The year's recipient of the Brian "Woody" Peoples Memorial Scholarship was senior SE/DB Ed Arnold.

Senior DE Pete Massaro, and the future Penn State Nittany Lion was honored for his accomplishment of earning a spot on the AP AAA Pennsylvania All-State team (second-team).
